TruGlow meet Mr. Volquartsen

I wrote weeks ago about a custom .22 Mag when I put a Leupold Scope on it. That was my first gun project of the year. I then wrote about winning a 3.5-10X TruGlow Scope at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet. Today I took the Leupold off, and installed the TruGlow on this awesome gun. I usually have silver finish scopes on stainless guns, but I won what I won so I went with black rings and bases to match.
The scope was at factory "0", which gives about 6" of side to side, and 4" of up or down adjustment. My first shot was 3 1/4" low and 1/4" right at 50 yards. A quick single click left, and several up, and I was in the right 1" square. I shot 2 shots and adjusted again.
The upper 2 holes are the first 2 shots. I adjusted just a hair more and I was in business.
Fighting the gusting wind, up to 10 mph with full 90 degree effect was tricky. I got a lull in the wind and I put a group together more like what this gun is capable of shooting.
The 100 yard groups were affected too much by the wind, I had lines due to wind drift instead of groups. They were still 1" center to center, but that is way spread out for this gun and I. This is the problem of light bullets and wind, they just blow too much. These pics are out of proportion, the red lines are 1" squares on the target. I will be shooting very seriously next weekend so I will write about the rimfire groups as well as the custom centerfires that we will be shooting.
