The clean up begins

The shooting part of the season is now over, but the harvest of so many deer has created 2 dirty trucks, 6 loads of dirty hunting clothes and coats, a dirty garage, a dirty trailer, knives, arrows, bows, broadheads in need of blades, a range finder to be found, stands, coolers and blinds to be put back on the shelves in the lower garage... I have a full week of "free time" worth of work just to be back to preseason shape!!!
I got the trucks and trailer washed this week, the stink was overwhelming and the layer of hair frozen to the 18' trailer was enough to need a rake to clean up. I found arrows and a knife in the snow I forgot about and the warm water from the hose brought them back to life. I put new tires on the Diesel 2500HD, 50k top end tires... good thing I got the road hazard warranty as there is a piece of stick thicker than a pencil sticking out of the edge of the tread on one of them. The trailer was put back in my brother's driveway, the hunting clothes have all been washed in Hunter's Specialties Laundry detergent and put into HS Scent Lok Bags. 4 big green bags, over filled, now house the camo until turkey season or until I get the urge to chase exotics. I lost the leather case for my best knife, the record setting blade I brag about so much, I will have to find another one.
I dropped my Leupold angle compensating range finder 2 weekends ago. They haven't gotten any new snow and there has been some melting so Jody and I are going on a shed hunt of unusual proportion. I know where I had it last, and where I realized it was gone... it was a fairly straight route, so I think our odds of finding it are good. I hope it doesn't take too long on Saturday as I have been asked to ice fish or coyote hunt as well. I will find the range finder first, no matter what!
The last 2 guns and gun cases need cleaned and my bow needs put away, but all in all, I will be done by the end of the weekend.
I will be dumping corn and alfalfa in front of cameras, in the morning, so that should help with sheds and in scouting for next years bucks. Lots to do, but so little time!
